Katherine Tse
Msc
Hi! My name is Katherine Tse, and I am a first-year masters student at York University
studying under Professor Adeyemi Olsuloa’s fluvial geomorphological extreme events
laboratory.
I earned an undergraduate degree in environmental science, allowing me to
explore an undergraduate research project that consisted of modelling the flow of the Black
Creek River during the July 16th rainstorm event in 2024 using HEC-HMS. This work
prompted me to pursue a masters in geography, where I hope to extend my previous work to
larger parts of the Humber watershed and incorporating climate re-analysis databases that
may become powerful tools in predicting future basin flow scenarios using the July 16th
event as a baseline in determining potential flood intervals.
